What is user experience (UX) design and how does it help reach your business goals?

Every time you use an app or website, you’re affected by its UX design. When it’s good, your experience is easy and intuitive. When it’s bad, you vow never to use that product or website ever again, no matter how innovative the idea behind it might be.

What should I expect from a branding project?

We start with a comprehensive discovery phase, where we learn about your business, goals, audience, and competitors. Expect to fill out a questionnaire that we’ll discuss together in a follow up meeting. It’s important to get your whole team involved early so that we can get everyone on the same page.

After we discuss where the brand is currently, your organization will create a mood board, with graphics, colors, tones, and elements that spark your interest. Then we’ll discuss your vision as a group to gain full understanding before we begin designing.

We will take our insights from our discussions with you and produce a number of initial design proposals. After you’ve given us feedback on our initial designs, we’ll reiterate and refine them until we achieve a final brand identity that reflects you and resonates with your target audience.

When we’re done, you’ll have easy to deploy guidelines that ensure your brand has a consistent visual language. Your brand will be easily recognizable, well differentiated, and memorable. We tailor each branding package to your specific needs though typically this will include logo design, color palette, and typography.

What should I expect from a website or app design?

Our process starts with an exploratory phase where we learn about your business, goals, audience, and competitors. We take time to explore your likes and dislikes and those of your target audience. We use insights from these explorations to get a general idea on the direction and the feel of your app or website.

Once we’re immersed in your world, we get to work with research. We use analytics, heatmaps, and customer behaviors to identify pain points and we start to shape the basic architecture of the design. Before ever putting “pen to paper," we have the bigger picture in mind and can see all of the connections between elements so that the design is cohesive and effortless for the user.

It’s only at this point that we dive into the design. We start to draw preliminary sketches and wireframes. We give structure to the intersection of research and idea. We’ll share our progress and have frequent checks with you along the way, shaping the product based on our discussions with you and the latest research. We create model users and map their journey with the product to ensure that your target audience loves it as much as you do.

Once we have the wireframe, we can begin applying your visual identity to the product. Your product takes shape as a functional prototype in Figma so that you can truly feel the design and you’re able to experience each animation and interaction. We continue to refine the prototype until we have achieved a design that fits your vision and engages your audience.

Once the design is finalized, we’ll make sure that you have everything you need to hand over to a developer for the final coding. We’re happy to review the development at strategic intervals to ensure that it’s progressing with high fidelity to the final design.

How long does a project take with garcy.studio?

The timeline varies based on the complexity and scope of the project. However, due to our extensive experience, you can expect faster results than the average studio and without the hidden costs that you find associated with longer timelines. After discussing your project, we’ll be able to give you a better idea of the timeline.

How much will my project cost?

We offer two standard pricing packages for each of our solutions that will fit most organization’s needs. Our packages can be found in the Solution menu. A discussion with us can sometimes reveal that your needs fall outside of our two pricing packages - in this case, we will be happy to discuss a custom package with you.

We also offer a monthly payment option (12 month commitment) that will help your organization minimize the challenges of an upfront investment. We’ll be able to start your project immediately and you’ll get to start reaping the benefits of our services right away.

We move quickly in our designs and for this reason, it’s critical that all stakeholders at your organization get involved early and stay involved throughout the design process. We want to be sure that your whole team is on board with every key decision so that no opinion gets left out.

What methods do you use to gain insights about users?

We are avid learners with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. It’s not possible to know everything so we focus instead on learning to use the available tools with maximum efficiency.

We study competition, dive into existing data, and examine analytics from trusted sources. When a project scope involves a working prototype then we conduct experiments to compare user behavior with different versions of a product. Through observation, conducting surveys, and interviewing participants, we’re able to gain significant insights into our user and apply our knowledge to your design.

Do you offer support after the project is completed?

Yes, we offer support and maintenance to ensure your brand or website continues to perform optimally. This includes updates, troubleshooting, and any additional design needs that may arise.

Trends change, research deepens, and needs expand. As you grow your business, we are happy to be by your side. We have many clients that reach out to us years after their project’s completion to expand on their website’s offerings or to tweak some elements to keep up with current trends and opportunities.

In which industries do you specialize?

We’ve designed for non profits, tech companies, fintech, shopping malls, etc. We’re excellent researchers and our fresh approach has won over skeptics and traditionalists in a variety of fields. For every project we take on, our goal is to become experts to best propel your vision forward.

That said, design for us is only partially about the specific industry. For us, design is a tool for engaging people - that is where our specialization really lies.

Do you do web development or do you work with any teams of developers to help realize the final design?

Many of our clients have either an internal team or a preferred team of developers, so we generally hand over our designs to you for development. Our team does, however, have within it some excellent webflow development skills so when it’s appropriate, we can offer our services.

We’ve encountered some great teams of developers in the past with whom we would be happy to connect you. Though we don’t currently manage development, we are available to answer questions, provide feedback, and help ensure that your project’s development is up to our high standards.

Where does garcy.studio’s design end and where does a developer take over?

We are available for an intermediate check during the development of the website or app and again for a final check after the developer’s team has handed over the finished product.
Once we work together with your team to determine “the one,” garcy.studio will expand on the design until we have a highly detailed Figma file with a UI system, components, and descriptions of transitions and interactions. Once this file is complete, it is ready for handover to a team of developers. It contains everything they need to realize the design. We remain available during this handover for clarifications, should the need arise, though typically, everything the developer needs can be found in the file already.

When my project is complete, will I have access to the design files?

Yes, all final design files are yours once the project has concluded. In addition to PDF, PNG, SVG and other requested formats, we will upload all final design source files for your future use.
